Wow, what a summer!

Sat Sep 26, 2009, 11:08 AM
So, I'm on the verge of going into my first "official" term of college and I'm so excited I can't contain it. Mainly because I get to work with clay again and practice my skills at hand building.
This summer has been so productive for me that it's not even funny. I realized some thigns about my skills as a ceramicist, I've discovered some things about my own abilities as a student and as a businesswoman in the art world, and I've also been productive with my own friendships.

Things have been rekindled and others extinguished, but hopefully for the better. Also, just as things have been good, things have been bad in their own way. I'm past some of the bad things, but hopefully not for too long.

Among the good things to happen to me this summer, I've had some amazing people behind me at the Umpqua Valley Arts Association backing me up and helping me to get my name out there. They've been such a great help to me. I mean, they've not only given me opportunities to get noticed here in town, but ALL OVER OREGON! it's incredible. I even have my own TV spot on SOPTV, which broadcasts over most of southern Oregon. That is a big leap for me.
Coming to terms with mmy own ceramic works has also been a big leap for me. I've realized more what I like to do rather than what i think others will buy.

Also, I have given my ceramics their own name to to speak.

Treetop Ceramics.

I don't know why, but I like the name and though I don't really plan on making a big business out of this in the future, it'll still be nice if I ever need to enter a business name eh?

Well that's it for now. I'm definitely gonna write some more in my journal here on DA cause it'll be good for me I think.

Much love....<3

You were lying on the carpet like you're satin in a coffin. You said, "Do you believe what you're saying?"
I said "yeah right now, but not really that often."
